Importance of NH SAS Testing
Standardized testing, such as the New Hampshire Smarter Balanced Assessment System (NH SAS), is mandated by state law (RSA 193-C) and the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
These assessments are essential for several reasons. These assessments:
-
provide a comprehensive evaluation of students' abilities in core academic subjects
-
help track students' progress toward high school graduation and their readiness for college or career paths
-
guide teachers in adapting and improving classroom instruction
