Assistant Superintendent for Secondary
The Nashua Board of Education approved Dr. Andrade's recommendation to hire Matthew Poska, current Principal at Elm Street Middle School, as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary on July 25, 2022.
Mr. Poska has led Elm Street Middle School for nearly two years, guiding students and staff through the pandemic and a return to the classroom. His work as Assistant Superintendent will focus a great deal on the planning for the conclusion of the middle school project, when Elm Street Middle School closes and McCarthy Middle School opens with major renovations complete at both Fairgrounds Middle School and Pennichuck Middle School. Prior to arriving in Nashua, Matt served as Principal of Beverly Middle School, Beverly, Massachusetts, for 14 years where he oversaw the building of a new middle school there, and previously as an Assistant Principal at Beverly High School for two years.

Mr. Poska began his professional career as a middle school social studies teacher and as a hockey coach nearly 30 years ago. His involvement in youth athletics over the years ranges from coaching hockey, baseball, and tennis and serving at the administrative level as a Director of Athletics.
