• The 1:1 Chromebook program provides each student with a personal device to enhance their learning experience. This initiative seamlessly integrates technology into classrooms, fostering digital literacy, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students gain access to a wide range of online resources and educational tools, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in today's digital world. This program not only supports academic achievement but also prepares students for future success by developing essential 21st-century competencies.

A Chromebook and accompanying power supply cord will be distributed to each student in the first two weeks of school. This device will be theirs to use for all three years of middle school, to be returned prior to the end of 8th grade. The device will be used both in the classroom and at home for educational purposes. Expectations of use in classrooms will vary with teachers, but students will be using this tool for instruction, assignments, projects, research and assessment throughout the day. It is essential and expected that each student bring their device to school each day already charged.

For each student to receive their Chromebook, both the student and a parent or guardian must review and sign the Chromebook Loan Agreement. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the loan, including:

    • The Chromebook remains the property of the Nashua School District.

    • Students are responsible for the care of their device.

    • The device must be kept free of writing, drawing, or stickers.

    • Students should report any damage or malfunction to the school immediately.

    • Fees may be assessed for damage, loss, or theft of the device.

Students are expected to follow the NSD Chromebook Care and Use Policy Guide, which includes guidelines for proper handling, screen care, and general precautions.
