21st Century Extended Learning Lab (formerly called Homework Club)
The Extended Learning Lab (formerly called Homework Club) is a structured learning club run by NH-licensed teachers hired as 21st Century Academic Teachers, supplemented by certified volunteer tutors, designed to provide students with additional academic support and enrichment beyond regular school hours. In 2024, the 21st Century Leadership Team made the decision to rename Homework Club because we recognize that while not all students within the Nashua School District are assigned homework to complete during their out-of-school time, we still have to opportunity to engage our students in learning while they are not in school. By renaming our Homework Club, we are changing our students' mindsets and are teaching them that learning outside of school can still be done without assigned homework!
The Extended Learning Lab is offered Monday through Thursday during the first hour of the program. The Extended Learning Lab provides 21st Century students with:
Homework Help: Our NH-Licensed teachers are here to assist your child with their homework, making sure they understand and complete it.
Fun Learning: We create engaging lesson plans and activities to make learning fun while helping students develop academic skills to meet grade-level reading and math proficiency levels.
Personalized Support: Using academic data, we identify areas where your child can improve and collaborate with their teachers to support school day learning.
21st Century Family Engagement Events
Family involvement is a very important part of your child’s education; we encourage each adult family member to participate in this program as much as your schedule allows. Each trimester, the 21st Century Extended Day Program offers a family engagement event in the evenings for both the parents and their children, or just for parents. Our family engagement events are designed to be fun for the whole family, so we hope you will attend! We will provide the information about these events in advance.
We select the adult workshop topics based on community feedback and the sessions have been designed for adult learning. Please let the Site Coordinator know if there are workshops that would be of interest or benefit to you.
