Please click here for the map that defines attendance boundary lines for the three middle schools, effective with the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
The Nashua Board of Education revised the map last night, changing only the boundary line for the neighborhood between Broad Street that runs south to the Nashua River; consequently, all Broad Street Elementary School students will now attend Pennichuck Middle School.
The attendance boundary lines for high schools and for elementary schools are current and are not changing for the new school year.
If you have questions about the middle school boundary lines, please email middleschoolproject@nashua.edu.

Please click here for an updated map that reflects the Board-approved adjustments for redistricting the school boundaries for the three middle schools: Fairgrounds Middle School, Pennichuck Middle School, and McCarthy Middle School. The map will take effect with the start of the 2024-2025 school year as Elm Street Middle School is closed and McCarthy Middle School opens.
The Nashua Board of Education approved in late June to adopt the middle school Group D Scenario 2 redistricting plan, with an added adjustment of moving west the McCarthy Middle/Fairgrounds Middle boundary line in south Nashua from East Dunstable Road to New Searles Road.

Thank you to those who attended the community forums on redistricting these last few days. Your feedback is valuable.
As Dr. Andrade noted at the forums, our work initially was about redistricting school boundary lines for our middle schools, as part of the middle school renovation and construction project. Then our focus turned to elementary schools to address inequities in boundary lines with the drop in enrollment over the last 10 years and because of the uneven class sizes across our elementary schools. We also convened a committee to review high school attendance boundaries. Here are the scenarios recommended to date (note search in upper left to look for a specific address):

Redistricting boundary lines for middle schools continues. During the course of developing a redistricting plan, questions were asked about current enrollment and enrollment projections. For reference, linked below are current enrollment, and 10-year enrollment projections prepared by Nashua Regional Planning Commission in February 2020.

Last night, the Nashua Board of Education approved the school district to negotiate a contract with Business Information Resources of Blue Springs, Missouri, based upon review of experience, capabilities, and price, estimated to be $47,985, to develop a redistricting plan for the middle schools. In general, the company will provide NSD with:
- a demographic study of the district with a 10-year forecast
- a redistricting plan with up to three options
- meetings with NSD Administrators and the Redistricting Committee members
- presentations to interested NSD stakeholders

The Nashua School District is redistricting boundaries* that define which of the three schools our middle school students will attend. Redistricting and redistributing middle school enrollment is an important part of the middle school project, creating greater opportunity and added resources for each middle school student, no matter which of the three middle schools the student attends.

Currently, NSD is finalizing a contract with a firm to develop three redistricting plans for consideration by the Redistricting Committee. It is anticipated that the Nashua Board of Education will approve the recommended firm at its December 19 meeting. In general, the selected firm will provide NSD with:
- a demographic study of the district with a 10-year forecast
- a redistricting plan with up to three options
- meetings with NSD Administrators and the Redistricting Committee members
- presentations to interested NSD stakeholders
As you may know, the middle school project includes renovations at Fairgrounds Middle and Pennichuck Middle Schools, and the building of the McCarthy Middle School off Buckmeadow Road in southwest Nashua. Each middle school will be able to accommodate up to 800 students. Redistricting will balance enrollment between the three schools.
Progress of the work of the Redistricting Committee will be reported on this page to keep those interested up-to-date. In the meantime, if you have questions, please send an email to middleschoolproject@nashua.edu.
